Introduction
The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the Swedish legal framework pertaining to nuclear energy - focusing on the arrangement of public powers in the sector, licensing regime, safety issues, liability regulations and nuclear waste management - and to analyse if and how such legal framework has changed or may change as a result of the experiences of the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan in March 2011.
