Petroleum Law in Australia (Tina Hunter and John Chandler) - Book Review
Published 28 January 2014
Introduction
At last, Australia has a definitive text on petroleum law, dealing with both oil and gas. For decades, Australian lawyers have had to manage without one, largely because Australian petroleum law has been evolving. The closest text has been Michael White's "Australian Offshore Laws" published by Federation Press in 2009. Because of the absence of a definitive text, as petroleum lawyers have retired, much knowledge has been lost.
Tina Hunter and John Chandler, two learned Australian academics with practical experience in the field, have endeavoured to make up for this with the first edition of what must now be the starting point for all budding petroleum lawyers in Australia and an essential reference source for the more experienced. This is a book for all petroleum lawyers to keep by their side – not just for perfunctory reference.
