Role of unconventional oil and gas in the forecast shift in the dominant energy resources consumption in the world's energy balance
The consumption of specific types of energy resources is determined by the degree of a civilization's development. Thus, wood was replaced first by coal then the oil era came. The next stage in the consumption of power of the developed countries of the world was characterized by shift towards greater consumption of natural gas. According to the ex-Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia Ahmed Zaki Yamani: "The Stone Age came to an end, not because we had a lack of stones, and the Oil Age will come to an end not because we have a lack of oil". This new stage will obviously form the infrastructural base for the creation of a technological complex to obtain and consume hydrogen and other kinds of energy.
