Abstract
This article examines the feasibility of developing a Canadian "hydrogen economy", involving, in the first instance, the production of hydrogen for domestic application in key energy-intensive sectors. In developing the legal and policy framework for hydrogen, decision makers and industry must also recognise Canada's longer-term export potential to supply a growing global demand in "clean hydrogen".
