Privatisation in the Electricity Industries of West Africa

English Abstract
In this paper we assess the different methods of privatisation carried out in this region since 1990 by covering a number of experiences. The public service industries have long been outside the reforms of the public sector and macroeconomic policies, but the issues of inefficiencies and the public debt justify reforms. However the low quality of assets in certain countries and the deficiencies of the institutional environment limit the privatisation options.
