Introduction
I would like to start by defining the issue and the concerns as I see them. To me, 'peak oil' is the risk that world oil production will reach a constrained peak in the near future as a result of the progressive depletion of the world's oil resources. If there were to be such an early peak, the implications for the world's oil dependent economies and societies would be widespread. Peak oil is an issue that has become of great interest to many.
