Summary
The claimants built and owned a 255-mile pipeline for transporting natural gas from a number of fields and platforms in the Graben area of the North Sea to on-shore facilities in Teesside. Before the pipeline had been built they entered into a Capacity Reservation and Transportation Agreement (CRTA) with the respondent Teeside Gas Transportation Limited (TGT), by which TGT reserved part of the capacity of the pipeline and the right to acquire a transportation service from the claimants until 2018.
