Gulzhan specializes in corporate, energy, infrastructure and project finance law. Prior to joining White & Case, she worked in the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan drafting Kazakh legislation and as an Associate and Coordinator of the Natural Resources Group in one of the leading commercial law firms in Central Asia. She graduated from the Kazakh State University of International Relations and World Languages (LL.B with high honors, 2004) and the University of Dundee (LL.M in Mineral Law and Policy, 2007). She is a member of the Editorial Board of the international e-journal “The Energy Politics” and has published articles related to oil & gas, mining and environmental issues both in the UK and Kazakhstan. She is qualified to practice law in Kazakhstan and has completed the academic stage of training to qualify as an England & Wales Solicitor (GDL/LPC from BPP Law School in London). She speaks English, Kazakh and Russian.
