Bo Kong
Profile
Bo Kong is Columnist and Chief Energy/Environment Economist for www.chinastakes.com. His work focuses on the economic, environmental, political, security, and foreign policy dimensions of China's energy policy. He is also a PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and his dissertation topic is about the making and implementation of China's international petroleum policy.
Between May and August 2007, he was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD) in South Africa and conducted research in Angola on China's overseas petroleum investment. In 2005, he worked as a summer research fellow at the Center for Global Security of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) under the US Energy Department.
In addition to energy, he is also widely published in both English and Chinese academic journals as well as newspapers on a variety of other topics, such as US-China relations, Chinese economy, and Chinese politics.
