Jorge Albites-Bedoya is PhD candidate at the Institute of International and European Law, University of Göttingen, Germany. He is a qualified lawyer in Venezuela and holds an LLM degree from the University of Heidelberg. He has been a visiting fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the World Trade Organization.
Jorge's work experience includes: foreign associate in the International Arbitration Group of Freshfields in Paris; legal adviser to the Permanent Mission of Venezuela to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva; legal officer in the Venezuelan antitrust authority and associate in a law firm in Caracas. His main areas of interest are public international law, international investment law, regulation, investment and commercial arbitration, WTO, European Union and competition law.
He is fluent in Spanish, German and English, and has a working knowledge of French and Portuguese.
