Ondotimi Songi is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland and the 2011 CEPMLP scholar investigating community benefits in extractive industry projects. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree with distinction in Natural Resources Law and Policy from the CEPMLP as a scholar of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) of Nigeria. He is Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and holds Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nigeria on a combined SPDC and Federal Government scholarship. He served as Legal Assistant to a High Court Judge, and worked as Research Associate at the Centre for African Legal Studies, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), International Bar Association (IBA), Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), Energy Institute (EI), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Scottish, Lagos and Ghana Oil Clubs.
