Professor Angel de la Vega Navarro

Angel DE LA VEGA NAVARRO is a professor at the graduate department of economics (National Autonomous University of Mexico - UNAM) of which he was director during two periods (1978/81 and 1989/91). He has a Ph.D. (Université de Grenoble) and he is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI - Mexico). He has been a visiting research fellow and visiting professor at various universities and research centers, such as the former Institut d'Économie et Politique de l'énergie (IEPE/CNRS). His research interests and publications are mainly related to the Mexican energy sector, specially the oil industry from an institutional and historical perspective. At present, he is interested in the development process of international institutional and regulatory frameworks related with energy and environment.
Since May 2011, he participates in the preparation of the next assessment report of the IPCC, as a lead author in the Group III (Mitigation, Energy Systems).
