Petr Polášek is partner at White & Case LLP in Washington, DC, focusing on international arbitration, public international law, and the protection of foreign investments. He has been involved in a number of cases before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and other arbitral institutions in matters arising under bilateral and multilateral investment treaties, such as Československá obchodní banka v. Slovakia, Plama Consortium Limited v. Bulgaria, and Gold Reserve v. Venezuela.
Prior to joining the Washington, DC office of White & Case in 2003, Mr. Polášek worked for several years with the Firm's Prague office, handling various arbitration and litigation matters such as one of the largest cases before the Czech Arbitration Court concerning an oil exploration joint venture and complex cross-border litigations.
