Carmen Plaza Martín is currently full-time Professor (Profesora Titular) of Administrative Law and European Law at the Law Faculty of Castilla-La Mancha University (Toledo, Spain), where she coordinates annually a postgraduate course for Latino-American students on "Medio Ambiente y Globalización".
She holds degrees from the universities of Essex (LLM in European Community Law) and Complutense (Licenciada, LLM and Phd). She was a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School in 1995 and has worked as Legal Adviser for several public and private institutions (as the Minister of Environment, Garrigues Medio Ambiente, and the Universidad Complutense). Her research and teaching interests focus on EU law and environmental Law, with special emphasis on issues related to the implementation of EU law by national authorities and on the impact of EC law in national legal orders. She is the author of the book Derecho ambiental de la Unión Europea (2005) and also of many articles and contributions to collective books on EC and Spanish law.
