Gilles Carbonnier is Professor of development economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies / Geneva. He is editor-in-chief of International Development Policy, President of the Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action (CERAH), Vice-President of the European Association of Development Institute and Steering Committee member of the Research Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP). His research and teaching focus on the energy-development nexus and the governance of extractive resources, international development cooperation as well as humanitarianism and the political economy of armed conflict.
