Profile

Jorge Gastelumendi obtained his BA in Law at the Catholic University of Peru in 1999 and a MSc in Energy and the Environment at the University of Calgary and the Latin American Energy Organization in 2002. Leader of Foundation Avina (Switzerland). Currently works as the Head of the Environmental Team of ESTUDIO GRAU, and represents them before the Inter-American Network of Specialists in Environmental Legislation (RIELA), the Mining, Oil and Electricity National Society, and the Peruvian Social Responsibility Network.

ESTUDIO GRAU is one of the first law firms in Peru to devote an entire department to environmental law, providing clients from the energy, mining and industrial sectors with sound legal advice.

ESTUDIO GRAU is currently working on complex aspects of Peruvian Environmental Legislation that include voluntary trust to carry out mine closure plans, environmental management systems (together with the application of ISO 14001), and voluntary legal audit programs.

ESTUDIO GRAU is the Peruvian principal member of the Inter-American Network of Specialists in Environmental Legislation (RIELA), a major network comprising US and Latin American firms.
