Dr. Ivan Ureta
Profile
Dr. Ureta is an International Relations and Business professor at IE University, lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland and a Research Fellow at the Department of Middle East and Mediterranean Studies King's College London. In the past he worked as an Associate Professor at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman. His research focuses on international political economy, security and risk analysis, emergent markets and political communication. He holds a PhD in Economic History and a PhD in International Relations (King's College London)
He has worked both as a scholar and a practitioner. As a scholar he currently collaborates as a visiting professor at Deusto Business School and at the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies. In the past he has been affiliated to: University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of Leeds, University of Exeter (UK); University of Lugano and Geneva School of Diplomacy (Switzerland); Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and Piura (Peru); University of Deusto (Spain). As a practitioner he has collaborated with: International Organization for Migration (IOM), Spanish (AECI), Peruvian (APCI) and Swiss (DSC) Agencies of Development and Cooperation, and the Permanent Mission of Spain to the UN in Geneva.
