Sanjay Kumar Kar is an associate professor and the head of department of Management Studies, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Jais, India. He has also served as an assistant professor at School of Petroleum Management, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, and an academic associate at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. He was a visiting scholar at Graduate School of Business, Chonnam National University, Gwangju, South Korea. He holds a BS from Fakir Mohan University, an MBA, and PhD from Utkal University, Odisha, India.

He has two books, namely "Energy Sustainability Through Green Energy", Springer 2015, and "Natural Gas Market in India: Opportunities and Challenges", Springer 2017 to his credit. He regularly contributes articles to refereed journals and books. To his credit, he has several case studies, research papers, book chapters, conference papers and presentations. Sanjay has published research papers in Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Advances in Energy Research, Oil, Gas & Energy Law, Journal of Emerging Markets Case Studies, Asian Case Research Journal, Renewable Energy Law and Policy, Oil & Gas Journal, Oil & Gas Financial Journal, and Vikalpa.

He regularly contributes research/opinion articles to Economic Times Energy World, Financial Express, DNA, The HansIndia, South Asia Monitor, Modern Diplomacy, Iran Review, Asian Oil & Gas, and Telangana Today.

Sanjay serves as a reviewer to many prestigious journals like Energy Policy, Vikalpa, Journal of Emerging Markets Case Studies, and Journal of Services Research. He regularly conducts training programs for participants from the corporates, government, and other domains. A large number of executives have been benefited from such training programs. Sanjay is a member of American Marketing Association.
