Profile

Margarita M Balmaceda received a PhD. in Politics from Princeton University (USA) in 1996. She is Assistant Professor of International Relations and Diplomacy at Seton Hall University and Associate of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute and the Davis Center for Russian Studies, Harvard University, where she was co-director of the Belarus Project, 1998-2000.

The paper published in OGEL 2 is the result of a research project conducted at the Mannheim Center for European Social Research in Summer 2001, supported by a grant from the MZES and supplemental funding from a Faculty Research Grant, Seton Hall University. This research is part of a book project on energy and foreign policies in Central-East Europe.
