Professor Isabelle Rousseau

Isabelle Rousseau holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes in Social Sciences (EHESS), Paris. Since 1997, she is a professor and researcher at the Center for International Studies of El Colegio de Mexico. Since 2015 she is the Founder and the Coordinator of the Energy Program at El Colegio de México (programaenergia.colmex.mx). She is a member of the National System of Researchers and a Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences.
Between 2008 and 2014, she has been Associate Researcher at CERI, Sciences Po, Paris comparing Petrobras, Pemex and PDVSA. From 2006 to 2015, she was an external member at Chatham House (London) of the team on Good Governance for the Petroleum Sector and then New Producers in Petroleum sector. For the third time, she has been a representative of the academic sector in the Steering Committee of the World Energy Council, Mexico Chapter (2012-2019). She has been responsible for two CONACyT projects on Pemex and the Mexican oil industry (2003-2006); (2009-2014).
