Dr. Peter Kayode Oniemola

Dr Peter Kayode Oniemola is a legal practitioner and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Commercial and Industrial Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is the Energy Law Programme Coordinator at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum Economics and Law (CPEEL), University of Ibadan. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) of University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) Degree of the University of Ibadan. He also holds a PhD in Law from the University of Aberdeen. Peter was appointed as McArthur Foundation Graduate Intern in the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, from March 2008 to March 2009. He was a Consultant to the Legal and Regulatory Subcommittee of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Reform Implementation Committee (OGIC) on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB). He was also Technical Expert to the Legislative Action on Petroleum Industry Reform (LAPIN) constituted by the House of Representatives. He has also consulted for universities and non-governmental organisation on United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded projects. He consults on oil and gas law, renewable energy law, climate change law, electricity law and regulation and power project finance, and is involved as resource person in training sessions. He has accumulated experience advising various government bodies and the private sector on energy-related issues. Peter has participated in multiple legislative initiatives regarding Nigeria's energy sector.
