Mykola Iakovenko holds a PhD (LLD) from the School of Law at the University of Eastern Finland and specializes in energy infrastructure development, energy market regulation, and decarbonization of the energy sector. He has extensive experience working with international organizations, global consulting firms, and governments to develop tools that facilitate energy trade and promote investment in new infrastructure projects and climate-neutral technologies. He is currently employed at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie, a German federal research center, where he works on projects aimed at achieving climate neutrality, with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe.
