Mykola Iakovenko

Mykola Iakovenko is a PhD researcher at the School of Law of the University of Eastern Finland. Mykola participates in the research group on the Energy law and policy, which is one of the focus areas of the Center for Climate, Energy and Environmental Law at UEF. The topic of his PhD research is the extension of the EU energy law to the non-EU states participating in the Energy Community. The main research interests: the regulation of the natural gas markets; issues of the natural gas transportation; competition in the natural gas markets; security of supply studies etc. Currently, he also works as a state expert at the Directorate General for European integration and strategic planning of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine. Prior to the PhD studies, Mykola completed the master's degree in international relations and diplomacy and bachelor's degree in law (LL.B) and history.
