Berryl Claire Asiago, is a PhD candidate and doctoral researcher at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), Centre of Climate Change, Environmental and Energy Law.
Ms. Asiago is an energy and mining lawyer specializing in the emerging energy and mining sectors. She is involved in relevant research projects surrounding government interventions in international business. In particular, her research focuses on the rise of Local Content requirements within legal, institutional and socio-economic controls of the upstream oil and gas.
Additionally, through legal advisory and research Ms Asiago is a consultant involved in legal and regulatory framework relating to Djibouti's energy, natural resources and power sectors respectively. She is also the special counsel for Cabinet ZK International Avocat Couseil in charge of drafting, reviewing and evaluation of energy-related and associated contracts in Djibouti energy and power sector.
Ms. Asiago has worked in India, United Kingdom, Kenya, Finland and Djibouti building hands on experience in legal and regulatory management. She has published and presented several research work on Angola, Nigeria, South Sudan, Kenya, and Norway oil and gas sectors.
Ms. Asiago holds an LLM (Dip) in International and European Energy law (Finland), LLM masters in International Banking and Insurance law (UK) and an LLB (India) and BAL (India).
