Natalia Charalampidou
Profile
Natalia Charalampidou is teaching postgraduate courses on the Energy Charter Treaty, with a particular focus on the protection standards for investors and investments and the arbitration provisions, including evidence under the IBA Rules and the Prague Rules, and International Law for Nuclear Energy and Renewables at the Faculty of Law of Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. She is also an author of the International Encyclopedia of Laws, contributing the Chapters on Energy, Environment and Contract Law in Cyprus, and editorial assistant for Transnational Dispute Management. Prior to these, she was an associate in Corporate & Commercial and Dispute Resolution Departments of high-profile law firms in Cyprus and overseas representing states and multi-national corporations in high-value commercial transactions, overseas complex litigation and investor-state arbitrations.
She has researched extensively on contaminated sites and remediation, environmental liability, solid and hazardous waste, environmental due diligence, energy compliance, prospection, research and exploitation of hydrocarbons, renewable electricity and unconventional energy sources. Presently she is interested in investment arbitration, especially energy disputes, and customary international law.
