Natalia Charalampidou, a native of Thessaloniki (Greece), is teaching International Environmental and Energy Law at the Law Faculty of the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece.
Natalia's areas of expertise include the Energy Charter Treaty, contaminated site investigation and remediation, environmental liability, solid and hazardous waste, environmental due diligence, energy compliance, prospection, research and exploitation of hydrocarbons, renewable electricity, unconventional energy sources and smart grids & cities. She is an author of the International Encyclopaedia of Laws contributing the Chapters on Energy, Environment and Contract Law in Cyprus.
Prior to focusing on academic research and teaching in 2012, Natalia had joined the corporate and dispute resolution teams of high profile law firms in Cyprus and overseas and acquired treasured experience in stock-exchange regulations, the European company (Societas Europaea), due diligence, fraud, anti-money laundering and investment arbitration in the energy sector. For these compelling and captivating times, she is much grateful to the heads of the departments and all her colleagues.
