Sohra Askaryar is a German lawyer and an associate in the Antitrust and Competition Law Practice in the Brussels office of Baker Botts. Her practice focuses on EU and German merger control, intellectual property, and antitrust enforcement by EU and national enforcement agencies. Sohra also advises clients in litigation before the EU Courts. Sohra has experience in a number of industries, including the technology sector, pharmaceuticals, energy, aviation and consumer products. Prior to joining Baker Botts, Sohra was an associate at other international law firms in Brussels and Munich, where she obtained broad experience in regulatory matters.

The Energy and Natural Resources Practice Group has represented a wide variety of clients in the energy industry, from nearly all of the dominant domestic and international oil and gas operators, service companies and pipelines to numerous regional and independent producers, processors, transporters, distributors and marketers. Baker Botts energy lawyers have significant experience working with clients in the upstream, midstream and downstream markets for virtually all forms of energy, including oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, coal, and renewables, including solar and wind.

The Brussels office focuses on EU and international competition, trade matters and litigation before the EU Courts. The team is fully integrated into the Baker Botts global Antitrust, Trade and Litigation Practices providing clients with a seamless service for their global matters, counselling clients across a broad range of complex matters and representing them in proceedings before the EU Commission, the General Court and the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg, as well as the national competition authorities and courts of EU Member States and other countries around the globe.
