Jaana Woiceshyn holds a BBA and an MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration (now Aalto University Business School), and a PhD from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She teaches strategic management and business ethics to undergraduate, MBA and Executive MBA students at the Haskayne School, and has taught as a visiting professor in Finland and Taiwan. She has also given seminars and workshops on these subjects to various business audiences.
Jaana's research focuses on managerial cognition and decision making, including ethical decision making, and the role of innovation in firms' strategy and performance. With expertise in qualitative methods, she has studied adoption of technological innovations in different industry contexts. She has also studied adoption of technological innovations by oil and gas companies and their integrative capability and value creation, as well as decision making of effective oil company CEOs.
Ethical decision making and its role in firms' performance is also the theme of Jaana' book, How to Be Profitable and Moral (Hamilton Books, 2012). Her current projects include implementing change in health care, cognitive integration as the microfoundation of firms' strategy.
