Advogada (Attorney), Brazilian and Portuguese Bars.

Ana specialises in international disputes. She has acted as counsel and secretary to arbitral tribunals in arbitrations under the ICSID, the ICC, the LCIA-MIAC, and the ICDR/AAA rules, and under the most important Brazilian institutions' rules (CAM-CCBC, CCMA CIESP/FIESP, CAMARB, Câmara FGV, CAM-BM&FBOVESPA and CMA from São Paulo's Instituto de Engenharia). Her cases have included large infrastructure projects (in construction, renewable energy, oil & gas and transportation), M&A deals, and projects for mining research and exploration.

She is an associate at Derains and Gharavi, Paris, and was previously an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Paris, and at Wald, São Paulo.

She is a member of the ICC Commission on International Arbitration and ADR. She was a member of the ICC Task Force on the Revision of ADR, Expert and Dispute Board Rules (2013-2014). Between 2009 and 2010, Ana also helped create dispute board rules of a major Brazilian dispute resolution institution. She is also a member of the Steering Committee of Delos' Long View Series.

Ana holds a degree in law with distinction from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), and a Ph.D. and an LL.M. (International Law) from the University of Cambridge. Her PhD thesis at Cambridge was entitled "Regional Economic Community Rules and Investment Treaty Arbitration: The EU Experience and its Relevance for the Andean Community," under the supervision of ICJ Judge James Crawford.

She features on global and regional panels of arbitrators, and taught the master course on private international law at Université Paris-XIII in 2017. She is the author of over 40 publications in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish, and regularly speaks at international conferences on arbitration topics.
