André Brauner is a Senior Legal Counsel at Open Grid Europe GmbH, Essen, Germanys leading gas transmission system operator with a gas transmission grid of over 12,000 km. His expertise encompasses all legal aspects relating to the construction and operation of gas networks and facilities. Background:
André Brauner studied law at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität in Bonn, Germany. He specialized in the German and European environmental and planning law as well as public commercial law and infrastructure law. During his obligatory two years legal clerkship he worked in Essen and Budapest for different legal institutions and law firms. After that he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Mining and Energy Law at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany. During this time he completed a research stay at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland, for his doctoral thesis about the UK capacity market and the German capacity reserve in the respective electricity markets.
