Martin Nettesheim is a Professor at the Law Faculty of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany, where he holds the Chair in German Constitutional and Administrative Law, European Community Law and International Law. He is, inter alia, Director of the Tübingen Center of International Economic Law and Member of the Board of the Center for Studies in Federalism at the University of Tübingen. Martin has studied law at the University of Freiburg and at the Freie Universität Berlin, where he received his Doctorate (summa cum laude) in Law and did his post-doctoral Habilitation. He has been a visiting professor at, among others, the University of California at Berkeley and Princeton University. Martin is a Member the International Trade Law Committee (International Law Association) and Secretary General of Societas Iuris Publici Europaei (SIPE). He is the author of numerous articles and books on EU-law, German constitutional law, and the European commercial order.
