Stefan Thomas is a Professor at the Law Faculty of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany, where he holds the Chair in Private Law, Commercial Law, Competition and Insurance Law. He is Director of the Tübingen Research Institute on the Determinants of Economic Activity (TRIDEA), a Member of the International Advisory Board of the Institute for Global Law, Economics and Finance, Queen Mary University of London, and a member of the academic advisory board of the FIW - Forschungsinstitut für Wirtschaftsverfassung und Wettbewerb. Stefan studied law at the University of Mainz where he also received his Doctorate in Law (summa cum laude) and did his Habilitation. Between 2004 and 2006 he was an attorney for an international law firm. His principal areas of research are European, German and international antitrust- and competition law and regulation on which he has authored numerous publications.
