Ivan Gudkov

Is associate professor at Moscow State University of International Affairs ("MGIMO") and a practising lawyer in one of major Russian oil & gas companies. He took his PhD in 2005 at Moscow State University of International Affairs on a dissertation studying legal regulation of the EU gas market. His areas of research interests include international trade, investment and energy law and politics, particularly EU and Russian energy law and politics. He has published widely in these areas, including the monograph "The EU Gas Market: Legal Aspects of Creation, Organization and Functioning" (in Russian) and is a co-author and contributor of several books including "Energy Law of the European Union", "Russian and German Energy Law: a Comparative Study" (in Russian). Ivan is a member of EU-Russia Gas Advisory Council and its working group on markets under EU-Russia Energy Dialogue, a member of an expert board of a Russian legal magazine "Oil, Gas and Law". Ivan has also previously worked in Moscow Regional Bar Association.
