Orestis Omran is an international lawyer serving as the Head of DLA Piper's EU-Greek Practice. Based out of Brussels, Orestis focuses on regulatory and transactional matters in the energy, banking and infrastructure sectors.
A US and Greek qualified attorney, Orestis has experience ranging from EU Public Private Partnerships and Procurement to representing global corporates in formal and informal state aid, antitrust and other investigations before the European Commission, national regulatory authorities and subsequent proceedings before the EU Courts. In Greece, Orestis has built a successful track record of advising major international and Greek companies on large transactions and projects while he has also been advising the Greek Government, the IMF and the European Institutions.
A graduate of the University of Chicago Law School where he was a Fulbright Scholar, Orestis has served as a guest lecturer in many Universities in Europe and the Americas on issues of comparative campaign finance law, sovereign debt restructuring and constitutional law.
