Profile
Alicia Elias-Roberts is an academic and teaches Oil and Gas Law and International Environmental Law at the University of the West Indies (UWI). She is a graduate of the University of Oxford and the University of Houston. She is the Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Law at the UWI St Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago. She has over 20 years' experience as an energy and environmental law legal consultant. She has provided expert legal advice to several governments in the Caribbean region and to international organizations. She is an attorney-at-law, admitted to practice in New York, USA, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
Alicia specializes in Energy Law, Petroleum Law, Environmental Law, International Law including maritime law), and Administrative Law. She has served as a legal consultant, legal researcher on conservation and biodiversity law, multilateral environmental agreements, maritime law, oil and gas law, treaty law, procurement law, to name a few. Alicia has drafted several laws and regulations in the region and conducted several reviews and analysis of technical reports, policy and institutions development planning and facilitating national consultations and training.
