Christoph Merkel offers 40 years of international experience in the energy industry, in particular natural gas & renewables. He is an experienced executive in corporate strategy, energy market analysis, gas trading & whole sale, long-term contracts, price reviews, arbitration proceedings, large & small scale LNG, M&A transactions and EU gas market regulation. He combines strong commercial skills based on line functions with a strategic overview of the energy industry.

Christoph Merkel consults companies and authorities, specialized in the European up-, mid- and downstream energy industry. He supports clients in strategic decisions, regulatory issues and complex investments. He supports as deal adviser his customers in identifying and achieving successful solutions. Inter alia, he has elaborated a strategy for German LNG imports, has been expert witness in arbitration proceedings and is member of a Monitoring Trustee team for Gazprom nominated by the European Commission in order to enable free flow of gas at competitive prices in Central and Eastern European gas markets.
