Ama Opoku Acquah is a Doctoral Researcher in Energy and Public Law at the University of Vaasa, Finland. Her research combines legal and policy analysis with institutional practices in European countries to examine how emerging oil and gas producers in sub-Saharan Africa can integrate standards and norms, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the evolving corporate ESG disclosure frameworks, to strengthen sustainability in petroleum resource governance.

Ama holds a Master's Degree in International and Comparative Law (MICL) with a specialization in International Economic and Resources Law from the University of Eastern Finland. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French & Linguistics from the University of Ghana and holds certifications in Project Management. Her areas of expertise include energy law, project management, stakeholder engagement, and conference and event planning and execution.
