Dr. Romppanen has published on several topics relating to international and EU environmental and climate law (i.e. the LULUCF and effort sharing sectors' legal framework, renewable energy, forests and bioenergy, sustainability transitions, environmental protection, and Arctic environmental law). Dr. Romppanen's list of publications contains more than 30 peer-reviewed articles or book chapters in leading academic publications in the field. Dr. Romppanen holds external expert positions with both national and international working and steering groups (such as with the UN Environment and the Arctic Council), as well as she has been invited and appointed to scientific evaluation panels. She has extensive experience of e.g. acting as an editor to guest issues or as a reviewer, and she frequently delivers invited speeches and presentations at both international and national events.
