I have worked at Technical Research Center of Finland, VTT 1984-2005 as Research scientist, Senior research scientist and Group Manager. I started at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, TAMK 2006 as project manager and lecturer. I have also worked at TAMK Head of Built Environment RDI Focus Area and now I am Customer Relationship Manager at TAMK.

My research topic has been since 1980's Built Environment in Finland and also other countries in the world. Built Environment consist of both Building Stock and Infrastructures. I started with need for renovation of the Finnish building stock. Nowadays I have made energy efficiency, CO2 and carbon neutral analyses of the building stock.

I have been a team member of several projects changing the Finnish building code (Ministry for Environment, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland). I am also member of writer group of the European Energy Performance of the Building Directive 2a article "Renovation strategy to achieve energy efficiency and carbon neutral Building Stock 2050 in Finland".
