Salome Janelidze is a director of legal department at Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), which was established in 1997 and has been recognized by the Energy Community Secretariat as one the strongest regulatory authorities of the Energy Community Contracting Parties. After Georgia's accession to the Treaty establishing the Energy Community, GNERC's role in the energy sector was further enhanced and presently it is one of the key implementers of the ongoing reforms.
In 2022, GNERC established the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center, where Salome Janelidze serves as a board member. The Center's main purposes include raising awareness in the electricity, natural gas and water supply sectors, conducting training programmes, carrying out research and finding solutions to the challenges faced by the regulated sectors.
Salome Janelidze holds an LLM degree in International Economic and Business Law from the University of Groningen. She is presently pursuing PhD in Energy and Electrical Engineering at Georgian Technical University.
