Profile
Barnabas Hatson Mwashambwa is a PhD candidate at the University of Dodoma in Tanzania and an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and Subordinate Courts thereto. He holds a Master of Laws in Oil and Gas Laws from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, the United Kingdom. Work experience includes working as an advocate at Galat Law Chambers, focusing on Corporate law, Land Law, Banking Law, Family law, Labour Law and Litigation before moving to TPDC in September 2014. Currently a Legal Officer for TPDC, where the main areas of interest are Oil and Gas laws, international investment laws, commercial arbitration, negotiations, land laws, investment laws and insurance laws. Engages in Negotiations of petroleum and other contracts, Draft legal documents and minutes, maintains and keeps pension schemes and insurance policies records pertaining to the Corporation and its employees and other tasks.
Successfully participated in negotiations of Host Government Agreement, Shareholders Agreement, financing Agreements and Land Lease Agreements for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project (EACOP) and participated in various arbitration cases in International Tribunals and Regional Court by defending the Government of Tanzania and TPDC.
