Dr. Joshua Jebuntie Zaato is a Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Ghana, Legon. He graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon with a First Class (Hons) degree in Political Science in 2003. He then studied for a Master's degree in Public Administration at Brock University, St Catharines, Ontario Canada. He later proceeded to the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, in Canada for his Ph.D. in Public Administration in 2013.
He began his academic career as a Lecturer at the School of Political Studies, University of Ottawa, Ontario Canada from 2010 to 2016. In January 2017, he accepted a position as Assistant Professor at the College of Humanities, Zayed University, Dubai.
He lived and worked in Dubai from January 2017 to December 2021 in both the College of Humanities and College of Business.
His main research interests are in the fields of Research Methods, Good Governance, Public Policy Analysis, Management Reforms and State-Owned Enterprises. He is also an expert in Public Private Partnerships and a World Bank consultant on governance.
Dr. Zaato has published extensively in international peer reviewed journals like Springer Discover Sustainability, International Journal of Strategic Energy and Environmental Planning, Global Encyclopedia of Public Administration, Public Policy and Governance and Journal of Strategic Contracting and Negotiation.
He has published on topics ranging from policy analysis, public private partnership, privatization, administrative reforms in Ghana. His current research focuses on Governance and policy failure and learning.
He is also a member of many academic and research associations including the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM), American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), International Political Science Association (IPSA) among others.
Dr. Zaato is the immediate past Assistant Chair of the International Studies Department in the College of Humanities and Social Science, Zayed University, Dubai, as well as the editor of the Newsletter of the same college.
