Denea Bascombe operates Denea Bascombe Legal in Vancouver, Canada. She holds a Master of Research from Macquarie University (2022); a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney (2020); a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs with a specialisation in Energy, Resources, and Sustainability from University of British Columbia (2017); and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of British Columbia (2015). Her research interests surround regulatory reform, pathways to decarbonization and net-zero emissions, the just energy transition, and community benefits schemes. Denea has worked with a range of think tanks and community legal organisations in both Australia and Canada, including the Australian Centre for Climate and Environmental Law and the Aboriginal Legal Service of New South Wales, as well as the David Suzuki Foundation, Asia Pacific Foundation, and Green Technology Asia Pte Ltd. Denea is admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and expects to be called to the bar in British Columbia in late 2024.
