Charlotte Hopkinson is an Attorney Advisor on the Energy Transition Team, Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), U.S. Department of Commerce.
Ms. Hopkinson holds a bachelor's degree in neuroscience and law & society from Oberlin College, a J.D., magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School, as well as a Professional Master 2 in Arbitration and International Trade Law and a Master 1 in French and American Law from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne. Prior to her legal studies, Charlotte was a lecturer at Shanxi Agricultural University in the People's Republic of China through the Oberlin Shansi fellowship program.
Immediately prior to joining CLDP, Ms. Hopkinson was a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Prior to working as a law clerk, Ms. Hopkinson was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York where she advised on cross-border corporate matters as well as international finance and restructuring matters in North America, Europe, and Latin America.
Ms. Hopkinson is a fluent French speaker and conversational in Spanish and Mandarin. Ms. Hopkinson is an active member of the State Bar of New York.
