Andrei Diaconescu, MBL in European and International Energy Law (Technical University of Berlin), LLM in International Arbitration (Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest), is a doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law, University of Lapland (Finland) and a member of the Law, Technology and Sustainability Transitions Research Group (LOST).
His current research focuses on the legal frameworks governing critical minerals and security of supply.
Prior to joining academia, he practised law in Romania, specialising in energy, international arbitration, contracts, and funding. For instance, he acted as counsel in various international energy arbitration disputes. He also served as in-house counsel for one of the largest integrated energy producers, supporting its green transition through legal assistance with contract drafting, negotiations, funding applications, and procurement for multiple renewable energy projects.
