Legal Advisor in International and European Business Law.

Despoina An. Galva is a qualified Lawyer with more than a decade of professional experience in Greece. Managing her own law firm, has allowed here to develop a strong foundation of skills which include both legal expertise and a business acumen with a solution-oriented approach and soft skills. Additionally, being proactive and very communicative has helped her to improve value for her clients and companies she collaborated with. Despoina holds a Masters in International and European Business Law which has provided her with a good knowledge of a number of Legal Areas, including Energy Law, Trade Law, Investment Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, Tourism Law and EU Law; She also has a Business Management Degree with specialization in the Tourism Industry. In recent years, Despoina has transitioned toward academic work with her role as a Legal Researcher at the Department of Law in Aalborg University, Denmark being crucial in this decision. Her participation in a cross-disciplinary research project allowed her to engage with academic legal writing and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her research interests span across Contract Law, Law of the Sea, Human Rights Law, Environmental Law and the sustainability-governance related issues.

Despoina's background reflects a combination of practical legal experience, academic work and familiarity with international and comparative legal contexts. Her experience as a Lawyer allowed her to gain a commercial mindset with a detailed-oriented approach and significant knowledge in a number of legal areas, including Consumer Law, Contract Law, Corporate Law, Employment Law and Administrative Law. Additionally, Despoina's experience as a Legal Researcher at Aalborg University in Denmark enabled her to engage in academic work, and provided her with relevant academic training, including interdisciplinary collaboration and academic writing. She has the ability to engage in both academic and applied legal problems, and work at the intersection of law, policy and governance issues.
