Profile
Prof. dr. Theodoros G. Iliopoulos is a lawyer with a specialisation in energy law and economics and the regulation of energy transition. He is a visiting professor of EU environmental and energy law at Hasselt University and at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has also worked as a postdoctoral fellow of Research Foundation-Flanders (FWO) for his project 'Quo Vadis, EU renewable energy support law?" and as an adjunct professor of energy law at the Free University of Brussels (VUB). He has also participated in research projects at Columbia University and the European Commission. He has studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (LLB, LLM), Utrecht University (LLM), Hasselt University (PhD), and the University of Maastricht (PhD). He has been honoured with several international research grants and awards, including the GCET (Global Conference on Environmental Taxation) Award "Young Researcher" for 2020.
