Diederik is a regulatory affairs specialist at Stedin whose work focuses on energy market design and network tariff methodologies. He explores how pricing structures, market rules, and regulatory incentives can jointly deliver affordable, reliable, and decarbonised energy systems.

Drawing on a multidisciplinary background, Diederik is completing an advanced LL.M. in Energy Law with the North Sea Energy Law Programme (NSELP) and holds an MSc from TU Delft in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis & Management. This combination of systems thinking and legal expertise informs practical analysis for utilities, regulators, and project developers, translating complex regulatory texts into actionable strategies.

Recent work engages with EU market design reforms, capacity mechanisms, congestion management, and consumer protection, with particular interest in aligning investment signals, security of supply, and distributed energy resource integration. Based in Rotterdam, he contributes to policy debates on tariff setting and governance and welcomes collaboration on articles examining the interplay between market design, network tariffs, and the energy transition.
