Hon. Russell D. Pulver (Ret.) is a retired judge, arbitrator, and mediator, and the founder of International Alternative Dispute Resolution. He served for approximately seventeen years as a United States federal Administrative Law Judge, the majority of that time deciding cases under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act, and has conducted several hundred mediations in that field. Before joining the bench, he practised for many years as a trial attorney across a dozen jurisdictions in maritime, aviation, products-liability, and insurance-coverage matters. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the London Court of International Arbitration, ARIAS-US and holds arbitrator roster positions with several European and international institutions. His current practice and writing focus on international commercial arbitration, offshore and maritime disputes, insurance and reinsurance, and the coordination of technically complex cross-border proceedings.
