Peter Davies was the Chief Economist of BP plc based in London (until 2008). He was responsible for BP's economic and energy market analysis and for the BP Statistical Review of World Energy. He is an Honorary Professor at the centre for Energy, Mineral and Petroleum Law and Policy at the University of Dundee. He is a former President of the International Association for Energy Economics and Chairman of the British Institute of Energy Economics. Prior to joining BP in 1985 he had been employed as an economist at the Chase Manhattan Bank, London, the World Bank, Washington DC and in the Ministry of Finance and Monetary Authority of Swaziland as a Fellow of the Overseas Development Institute.
