John L. Watson

John Watson's commercial litigation practice spans 30 years. He appears in Colorado state courts, federal courts throughout the country, and before federal, state and local administrative agencies and commissions. As both defense trial attorney and counselor, John represents clients in a host of complex commercial cases. He advises facility owners and operators on increasingly complex federal, state and local regulations and ordinances.
He has served twice as the Chair of the Colorado Bar Association's Environmental Law Section in 1979 and again in 2003. He also chaired the ABA Committee on Toxic Torts and Environmental Litigation of the Section of Environment, Energy and Resources.
John has significant jury trial and court experience. He has tried to verdict several multi-week jury trials.
John has written several articles and speaks throughout the country on commercial litigation and environmental law issues. He teaches at the University of Denver College of Law and serves as faculty teaching trial tactics at the annual institute for child advocates at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) in Boulder, Colorado.
