Michael McIlwrath is Associate General Counsel - Litigation for BHGE. He is based at his company's headquarters in Florence, Italy where he represents his division in disputes world-wide, including work in negotiations, mediation, and arbitration. He is a member of the board of directors and past president of the International Mediation Institute (IMI), a non-profit organization based in the Hague promoting the development of mediation as a profession around the world.
Michael is the co-author, with John Savage, of International Arbitration & Mediation: A Practical Guide (Kluwer 2010), and is also a regular contributor to OGEMID and to the Kluwer Arbitration blog.
International Dispute Negotiation (IDN). Michael is also the host of the CPR International Dispute Negotiation (IDN) podcast series. It offers audio interviews with experts around the world on the actual practice and hot topics in cross-border conflict resolution. The series includes interviews with members of OGEMID and its founder, Thomas Wälde.
